A bit of the back story so you understand why this site exists and what our thinking was to put in the hours to make it what it is

About SportsKitBuddy

SportsKitBuddy was set up with the aim of taking the stress out of travelling with your Bike. Over the last few years I have always found it a pain trying to get hold of a bike box just when I am off to a race or holiday.

My flat was already too small for my girlfriend and I, so owning my own box was a non starter!! Hence, I’d ended up emailing and calling round friends at the last minute trying to borrow a box. I’m sure you can appreciate there are certain times of the year when this proves difficult, so this website was essentially born out of frustration and it’s aim is to help other frustrated souls locate a decent box and easily book their bikes carriage!

The flip side of that is owners of bike boxes who have invested in these large and expensive bits of kit can now make their bike box pay for itself by renting it out to fellow triathlon and cycling enthusiasts for money, turning a liability into an asset

I am also proud to say that Sports Kit Buddy has been able to help Cycling and Triathlon Clubs like my very own 'Clapham Chasers' run their own club's boxes with less hassle. Club members can search and rent the clubs own boxes through the site, unlocking access to them with a specific code given to them by the club.

Meet the Founders:

Alan

Based out of Clapham Junction, London. I’m a keen triathlete, love cycling and have recently got into swimrun racing. I am a member of a running & triathlon club called the Clapham Chasers and am a part time coach with Embrace Sports a friendly company offering running, triathlon and cycling holidays.

Sport has always been a massive part of my life and setting up a company that was involved in triathlon and cycling has been a dream of mine.

I've known and worked with Alan for several years and hope we have created a truly worthwhile resource.

I enjoy the site development and IT aspects of SportsKitBuddy but also have a keen interest in promoting the human side of hire-share (as opposed to constant consumerism) and limiting negative environmental impact.

I will always champion ideas and projects which promote positive energy, and most of all, keep people active!
